Our latest purchase

So, we ended up getting the tandem stroller that we wanted. I love it so far! In fact, Peytonn loved it so much when we put it together, he sat in it and watched cartoons for about half an hour. He even got mad at me when I tried to unstrap him from the stroller. lol! Bennett also fits very well into the seat of the stroller, which are adjustable. We can also take off one of the seats and add the adapter to it in order for the carseat to fit on the stroller. Here are some pictures that I took of the boys after we put it together.

Spring is coming!

I can't believe that Spring is almost here. I cannot wait for the warmer weather, sunshine, and playing outside! We went to the mall yesterday to walk around and do a little shopping. I love the "Jumping Bean" brand of clothes at Kohl's. The sizes and fit have always been great for the boys and I always buy them when they are 2/$10. Not a bad price. I also like that they have t-shirts for boys starting at 6-9 months instead of only onesies. So, we got the boys some t-shirts and shorts for the summer. I can't believe I am buying 6-9 month clothes for Bennett for this summer. That is unreal!

We also went to Old Navy and I found the boys matching shirts for our family pics we are getting done next month. They are super cute!Bennett has also outgrown all of his 0-3 month clothes and we are into the 3-6 month stuff. He has grown so fast! He will be 4 months old on the 8th.

We've also decided that we arent so in love with our side by side double stroller. (Hormonal pregnancy buy!) And my husband likes to remind me daily that he tried to talk me out of buying it. :) I think we might get the one we were wanting to get in the first place. Its the Contours Tandem Deluxe Stroller. It has the 2 seats that you can change around in different positions. It will also fit an infant carrier in either seat position. I have really missed being able to hook the carseat into the stroller, like we were able to with our old Graco. I think we might go to BRU and get the stroller today. Yay! :)

Funky hats

Well, B is outgrowing his winter hat pretty quickly. I got it from The Children's Place and its a 3-6 month size. Well, it leaves red marks now around his head. And P's birthday is coming up, so I decided to get the boys matching knit hats. They are super cute and I can't wait for them to get here. I got them off of Etsy.
How freakin' cute is that!? I got them from Charbridge Knits on Etsy. They have some really, really cute knit hats. I think the boys will love them.

My weight loss journey...

Since Christmas, I have been doing Weight Watchers. It has gone very, very well. I have lost a total of 20lbs so far and I have 5lbs more to go to reach my pre-pregnancy weight from before I had P. I haven't seen that weight in almost 3 years!! My pants fit much better and some of my work pants are even big on me now. I had bought a pair of jeans about a month ago and I had to go back and get a smaller size now. I love that!!!!

My weight has been a struggle for me the last few years. Especially now that I have kids, life can be so hectic that you forget to take care of yourself. But I also want my children to learn healthy eating habits and making good choices about food. I love to cook and my challenge to myself right now is learning how to reinvent the foods that I love, to healthier recipes. I am more aware of what I am eating and how much I am eating.

I can't wait for it to start warming up so that we can go for our walks in the evenings again. We have 2 playgrounds in our neighborhood and we like to walk to them after dinner. It helps us walk off some of our dinner and it also helps P to burn off some energy before bedtime.

I still have a long way to go until I reach my goal. I am almost half way there, but I'm confident that I can reach it.

A dear friend...

As some of you might know, a supervisor at work was killed in a car accident on 65 on Saturday morning. She was a dear friend to all of us and was the most wonderful person. She truly loved her job and has helped so many families and children. She was due to be married in May.

Work was really hard today. It was a very sad day. Her office door was open with flowers on her desk. Emails from friends and co-workers were posted around her door frame. Court was cancelled today for us and other counties volunteered to help us out in any way we needed. The atmosphere cycled from crying to laughing hysterically to working, repeat.

Julie was the kind of person that would really make you think hard at work and bust your chops when you made a mistake, but then meet you at Chumley's after work and laugh with you about life and your cases. She was a great friend and a wonderful person to know. I know that she will truly be missed by many. Her fiance, Michael, came to our lunch today and he really touched all of us. He said, "Julie would not want you to mourn her, instead she would want you to celebrate her life." He also said, "I know many of you have your favorite moments of Julie, or special jokes with her. I want to know those stories and those jokes. I want to remember her the way that you all will remember her." Michael was such an inspiration today, he was comforting all of us instead of us comforting him. Julie's family and Michael will be in my prayers and I ask that all of you keep them in your prayers as well.

Here is a link to the article in the paper about the accident. Julie is right in front of me in the picture. We miss you Julie!

Where does the time go?

I cannot believe that P is almost 2 years old! Where on earth did all the time go? We are trying to plan out his birthday party and what we are going to get for him. I am really wanting to get him the "Your Baby Can Read" program. He is just now beginning to talk and I think it would only benefit him. Even just in the past few days, he has started to say more words and distinguish between things. This weekend he has been obsessed with a basketball. He calls it a "ba ball" and can distinguish the basketball from his other balls of similar size. It's so neat to watch him learn new things.

B is also getting big. He is now rolling over pretty well from his tummy to his back. He also likes to look around on his belly much more than he used to. H
e is grabbing for toys and has found out how to suck on his fist. I love talking to him, he focuses so good on your face and just lights up when you start talking to him. I love this stage! Here are some new pics that I took of the boys today.

Our family

I've decided to start a new blog. I know that I had a blog back when P was little, but now it is time to add B to the mix. Plus, my DH is getting ready to be deployed in the next couple of months and I would like somewhere to jot stuff down. I hope that you enjoy the journey of our lives as much as we do.
