How far along? 10 weeks

Due Date: August 28, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs so far

Maternity clothes? both pants and tops (mostly for the length)

Stretch Marks? Not yet. I do have a few light ones on my sides from the previous pregnancies, but none on my belly.

Best moment this week: At the end of this week, the baby will no longer be an embryo, but a fetus!

Movement: still too early for this

Food cravings: fresh fruit: pineapple, melon, apples, bananas. Also red meat. (strange!)

Food aversions: this is slowly getting better. I am finding I can eat more things. Except chicken, it is still not my friend.

Gender: unknown

Labor Signs: none

Belly Button in or out? Innie and has never popped out. Although, I've never made it past 34 weeks so who knows if I make it full term.

What I miss: a glass of wine

What I am looking forward to: gaining some energy back

Milestones: Only 3 more weeks of the first trimester! Hopefully I will get some energy back after that!

Monster Jam

We took the boys to Monster Jam on Saturday night. Peytonn was really excited and did really well. Bennett on the other hand was a little out of control. It was held at the stadium and we were really high up. It was so steep that I started to have a little bit of an anxiety attack. I was so scared that if the boys happened to trip and fall that there was nothing to keep them from going right over the edge. We were very strict with them that they had to stay in their seats for this reason. Peytonn did great, Bennett was restless and wouldn't sit for very long.  I was hoping that once the show actually started that he would settle down. WRONG!  He wouldn't keep his head set on, he wanted to play musical people, and didn't want to sit in his chair. About an hour into the show he kicked over the bottle of water onto the lady in front of us. I was so mortified! I took him out of the stadium to sit and calm down. After about 20 minutes Hubby brought down the keys and coats to me and I took the boys out to the car. At this point it was 2 hours past their bedtime. I put a movie on for them in hopes they would fall asleep. Wrong again! I drove around for an hour while Hubby and the Inlaws watched the show.  The boys finally fell asleep as we sat in traffic for an hour after the show and we made it home at midnight. I was exhausted and of course the boys were up at 6:15am.

Peytonn had a really good time, but I think Bennett was still a little too young to really enjoy it. Obviously! Lesson learned!

 Crash! The boys loved this!
 Grave Digger! They're favorite!

9 weeks

How far along? 9 weeks

Due Date: August 28, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs so far

Maternity clothes? Found out this week (the hard way!) that I can no longer get my jeans buttoned. I am now wearing maternity pants and some shirts. Some of my regular shirts feel too short.

Stretch Marks? Not yet. I do have a few light ones on my sides from the previous pregnancies, but none on my belly.

Sleep: I feel like I am slowly getting some of my energy back, which is nice. I can still nap on the weekends but then I am up until 10 or 11pm.

Best moment this week: We had our first doc appt last Monday and it was great to see the baby for the first time!

Movement: still too early for this

Food cravings: fresh fruit: pineapple, melon, apples, bananas

Food aversions: this is slowly getting better. I am finding I can eat more things. Except chicken, it is still not my friend.

Milestones: We got to hear the baby's heartbeat on Monday. It was 175!

*Please don't mind my atrocious hair! I have a hair appointment this coming week for a cut and highlight. It needs help, this I know.

Baby doc

Yesterday was my first OB appointment. It went really well. I got an internal ultrasound and there is definitely only one baby in there. It's heartrate was 175 bpm and I was measuring at 8 weeks 2 days instead of 8 weeks. There were 3 different dates for my due date. According to Fertility Friend where I was charting my due date was 8/28/11, according to my LMP it was 8/29/11, and according to "the wheel" it was 8/31/11. After the ultrasound my doc said she felt comfortable going with 8/28/11 as my due date. I feel fine about this and I know when I ovulated and when conception probably was (it was within a 2 day span). For most people, that date doesn't really matter all that much. But for me, it really does. I have never made it past 34 1/2 weeks, so every day counts for me and the baby. So technically my weeks change on Sunday now instead of Monday.

My doc and I also talked about our "strategy" as she likes to call it. Ha! I will start weekly Progesterone shots starting at 16 weeks and continue them through 36 weeks. I administer these myself at home in my hip. They are not fun and I don't look forward to them or the 2 bruised hips. However, I know they got me 2 1/2 weeks farther with Bennett and I hope they will get me to 37 weeks or beyond this time around.  I will also get steroid shots sometime between 28 and 34 weeks and I will get Fetal Fibronectin (sp?) tests starting at 24 weeks and ending at 34 weeks.  These tests *can* predict if you will go into labor in the next 2 weeks. I've had them with both boys.

My next appointment is in 4 weeks on Valentine's Day. I also haven't gained any weight and I actually lost a pound today from yesterday. I'm ok with that! :) We got lots of pictures from the ultrasound yesterday, but I'm too lazy to upload them.

I also got my pregnancy pillow in the mail yesterday. It was heaven last night! Its definitely huge and it barely fits on my side of the bed and we have a king. But I slept great minus the 6 times I got up to pee.

Yesterday was just a good day. Hubby and I got to spend the entire day together and use some of our giftcards from our Anniversary to Maggiano's for lunch. We also walked around one of the malls in Indy and Gap was having a 40% off your entire purchase day. I was able to get 2 maternity shirts and 2 tank tops. Then we went to pick up the boys and had dinner with my in laws. I ate so much good food yesterday and I have no idea how I am down 1 pound. I even woke up at midnight starving to death! Crazy!!

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

I made this dip this afternoon for the boys and I to snack on. It was a huge hit! I thought it was really yummy and so did the boys. I eventually had to get Bennett his own bowl because A) he's a double dipper, and B) he wouldn't stop eating mine! It was really easy to throw together and only took about 20 minutes in the oven to bake.  This would be great for a party or just to snack on at home while you watch a movie or play a game.

Spinach & Artichoke Dip
I mixed the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo together first. Then added the parmesan cheese (I only used 1 cup), spinach and garlic. Then I added the artichoke hearts last. I also shredded up some Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese and added that to the mixture and also on top. You can use Mozzarella as well or an Italian mix.

I also added some lemon zest which gave it a nice flavor. I also used a microplane to grate my garlic instead of mincing it. I used 2 small cloves of garlic and it enough. You could definitely taste the garlic, but it wasn't too overpowering. You could also cut it down to 1 clove and it would be just fine.  I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and light sour cream. We use the mayo made with olive oil. I served mine with Blue Corn Tortilla chips, but you can use crackers, toasted bread, veggies, etc.

It turned out great!! I really recommend this!

Oh, sleep!

I am still really tired most days and I am pretty much in bed by 8pm most nights. Lately, I am so uncomfortable in our bed, I sweat all night and none of the pillows are comfortable. I have resorted to sleeping on Peytonn's frog pillow pet. Sad.

I also play musical beds during the night, starting out in our bed, then moving to Peytonn's bed, then back to our bed, sometimes Bennett's bed, and the list goes on. I find Peytonn's bed the most comfortable and sleep the best in there. I slept there all night last night and got some really good sleep.

I think I am going to order a pregnancy pillow and see if that will help. My sis says she really likes the one she got, so I think I will try that one from Amazon.
I gave away my boppy pillow to a friend after I was done using it, so I think this pillow will be great for nursing in the middle of the night for support. Usually I have to sit up 2 pillows behind my back and then a pillow or boppy for the baby. This will pretty much combine all of that into one pillow.
I will be ordering it on Friday. It's eligible for Free shipping with Amazing Prime so hopefully it will come soon!

7 weeks

How far along? 7 weeks

Due Date: According to my LMP August 29, 2011.  According to Fertility Friend and my ovulation date, August 28, 2011. Not much of a difference

Total weight gain/loss: -2lbs. I don't know how, considering only bad carbs sound good.

Maternity clothes? maternity dress pants because mine no longer button. My jeans still fit but get uncomfortable after sitting for long periods. I have worn my maternity jeans once and they were amazing! Right now I am just rotating them with my other jeans.

Stretch Marks? Not yet. I do have a few light ones on my sides from the previous pregnancies, but none on my belly.

Sleep: exhausted!!!I am still super tired. I am ready for some energy back.

Best moment this week: knowing in exactly one week for today we get to see the baby!

Movement: still too early for this

Food cravings: carbs

Food aversions: I still have a hard time eating anything that is not a carb. I can't do anything with too many flavors, smells, or textures. I haven't cooked much lately.

Gender: unknown

Labor Signs: none

Belly Button in or out? Innie and has never popped out. Although, I've never made it past 34 weeks so who knows if I make it full term.

What I miss: feeling somewhat normal

What I am looking forward to: my first doc appointment next Monday.

Milestones: Hands and feet are starting to emerge from the arms and legs. My uterus has doubled in size in the past 5 weeks!

People have already started to notice a slight  change. People have commented. This makes me worry! :)
